Before moving to Bristol to take up a consultant plastic surgeon post in North Bristol NHS Trust, Mr Anthony MacQuillan worked as a consultant plastic surgeon in London at the Royal Free Hospital. Mr MacQuillan undertook his specialist training in London, and during this time completed a period of formal research resulting in a medical doctorate degree awarded by the University of London, on the subject of muscle transplantation for limb and facial reconstruction. He has ongoing research interests and has published many papers on and around the subject.
Mr MacQuillan's current NHS practice encompasses hand surgery, peripheral nerve injury, skin cancer and sarcoma work as well as a tertiary referral clinic for muscle transplantation, with patients coming from across the whole of the UK.
As a registrar at the famous Mount Vernon Plastic Surgery Unit in London, Mr MacQuillan gained extensive training in aesthetic surgery over a period of many years. He subsequently undertook the prestigious Wellington Hospital Aesthetic Fellowship, London’s foremost aesthetic training post, where he worked with many of London’s top Aesthetic Surgeons. Mr MacQuillan regularly draws on this experience when treating patients both in the NHS and independent sector to give them the optimum aesthetic outcome, whether they are having a reconstructive or cosmetic procedure.
Mr MacQuillan has an interested in all aspects of cosmetic surgery with particular interest in facial rejuvenation, breast surgery and body contouring. With his MW Cosmetic co-founder Mr Robert Warr, they can offer a two surgeon bespoke full body lift procedure which attracts patients from all over the UK.
Mr MacQuillan has a busy NHS practice at Frenchay hospital, providing care in the field of nerve injury which encompasses facial reconstruction. He has trained extensively in aesthetic surgery and has undertaken specialist training in London and Paris in order to refine his skills.
He regularly attends UK and Overseas conferences both contributing and listening to the latest aesthetic developments and procedures.
