Fracture care and ongoing problems following trauma. Osteoarthritis treatments. Hip and knee replacements.
I have numerous clinical orthopaedic publications with articles on the shoulder, hip, knee and ankle and fracture care. My current focus is on fracture care and management of injuries and I maintain an active interest in bone biology where I have been involved in stem cell and gene therapy work.
I offer a specialist service for fracture care and ongoing problems following trauma where there has been a slow or incomplete return of function. I also offer hip and knee services. My orthopaedic training was undertaken in Edinburgh, a programme rated as one of the best by the recent GMC report. This gave an excellent experience in joint replacement surgery and fracture care. In 2007-8 I undertook the internationally acclaimed Vancouver fellowship in orthopaedic trauma. I have been practising in North Bristol for over 2 years doing trauma, especially the complex reconstructions doing trauma in Frenchay, and doing joint replacement surgery in the Avon Orthopaedic Centre. My philosophy is to maximise function whether that be following trauma or from arthritis either through focused conditioning or surgery or a combination.
I have embraced life in the South West with my wife and 2 sons, enjoying the beautiful countryside and coastlines. I cycle, run and swim and have taken up surfing since arriving in Bristol.
