    I specialise in the assessment, treatment and where appropriate bone marrow transplantation of generic and metabolic diseases affecting the blood system. This includes a wide range of diseases including mucopolysaccharidoses (Hurler syndrome, Marroteauq-Lmay syndrome), leukodystrophies (adrenoleukodystrophy, metachromatic leukodystrophy, globoid cell leukodystrophy), haemophagocytic disorders (haemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis [HLH], familial erythrophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis [FEL], Chediak-Higashi syndrome), haemoglobinopathies (thalassaemia major), Fanconi anaemia and osteopetrosis.

    Bone marrow transplant procedures are performed at the Bristol Royal Hospital for Sick Children which specialises in the transplantation of both children and adults. There is a pericular expertise in transplantation where the donors are matched unrelated or haploidentical (half matched parents or siblings).
