A few weeks ago we were delighted to welcome a new Theatre Manager on board here at Spire Bristol Hospital.
Adam Busby brings a wealth of experience to his new post. His duties involve overseeing our five state-of-the-art operating theatres including Theatre 5 which forms part of the £10.5 million extension which opened earlier this year.
In addition to our theatres, Adam is responsible for our Endoscopy Unit and Sterile Services Department – in all taking in 50 full-time staff.
A Plymouth University graduate, Adam has previously been a volunteer as a County Staff Officer with St John Ambulance in Devon and is currently studying for an MSc in Management at the University of the West of England.
Adam is also involved with the Health Professions Council ensuring operating department practitioners across the country meet the council’s continuing professional education standards.
He has joined us here at Spire Bristol after eight years working in the NHS, at hospitals in both Bristol and Exeter. He lives in Bristol with his partner and two toy poodles Jonty and Jasper. He enjoys travelling and reading.
Here at Spire we have created a new flagship hospital for the region which is a national centre of excellence for cardiac, brain and spinal surgery, and Adam’s experience and expertise will be vital as we move towards the next stage of our development.
