If your child is struggling with a health condition, you can choose to see a consultant privately at Spire Healthcare. Our hospitals work together to offer a full range of paediatric services from initial consultation and diagnosis through to treatment and surgery.

At Spire Alexandra Hospital, we offer a limited consultation and diagnostic service for children between 0 - 16 years. Treatments and surgery can be offered to children and young people aged to 16 – 17 (up to  their 18th birthday) if they meet the requirements following a risk assessment and approval by a Registered Children's Nurse. Please be advised that we do not offer any invasive procedures to anyone under the age of 16.

Children's services available at Spire Alexandra Hospital

Under 16s
Consultations and minor tests such as ear suctioning and blood tests are available for children under 16. If your child needs further interventional diagnostic tests or surgical treatment, your consultant will discuss this with you and can arrange this for your child at an alternative Spire Hospital or local NHS facility which offers a full service for children.

Treatments for young people
Young people aged 16 - 17 years (up to their 18th birthday) who need further interventional diagnostic tests or surgical treatment will be risk assessed by a Registered Children’s Nurse to confirm that they can be treated as an adult. Any interventional or surgical treatment* would take place at Spire Gatwick Park Hospital, Horley, Surrey.

Children and Young People's treatments
We offer the following screens, tests and services to paediatric patients between the ages of 0 - 16. These may vary depending on your consultant.
