Rob Roger Chief Executive Officer Since joining Spire, Rob Roger has been a key part of the management team that has driven a successful period of growth, including a programme of continued investment and the acquisition of eleven hospitals, establishing Spire as the second largest private hospital provider in the UK. Prior to joining Spire in 1998, Rob was CFO at The Tussauds Group Ltd., where he ran the MBO. He then led a number of mergers and acquisitions, including the sale of the Tussauds Group to Dubai International Capital, the merger of the company with Merlin Entertainment in 2007 and the acquisitions of Thorpe Park and British Airways London Eye. Rob previously held a number of Finance Director positions with companies such as PepsiCo Inc. and First Choice Plc. |

Simon Gordon Chief Financial Officer Simon joined Spire in July 2011 having spent 8 years as Group Finance Director of leading international health and fitness club business Virgin Active. During his time at Virgin Active the business grew from break-even to £150m EBITDA operating in 5 countries. Simon has a wide range of experience of growing customer focused multi-site business both organically and by acquisition and worked with private equity firm Bridgepoint Capital as the majority owner of Virgin Active between 2002 and 2005. Prior to joining Virgin Active, Simon worked for KPMG on both audit and transaction advisory projects for both listed and private companies. |

Daniel Toner General Counsel and Group Company Secretary Previously with Freshfields and the commercial Directorate at the Department of Health, Daniel joined Bupa hospitals as Head of Legal in 2006, becoming General Counsel and Company Secretary for Spire in September 2007.

Dr Jean-Jacques (JJ) de Gorter Group Medical Director JJ qualified from Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School in 1993, subsequently completing his MBA at Cranfield School of Management in 2004. He has practised as a doctor in the UK, New Zealand and Australia in both general practice and hospital settings, and was a medical director for NHS Direct for three years prior to joining Bupa hospitals as Director of clinical services in 2005. JJ represents the independent sector on the National Joint Registry steering committee, and is chair of the Hellenic Project – an innovative collaboration to provide high quality information and inform choice by patients and GPs. He is responsible for setting, monitoring and driving up clinical standards for every Spire Healthcare service, in order to ensure the safe and reliable delivery of clinical care for every patient. |

Andrew Gore Chief Operations Officer Andrew moved into private hospital leadership and management 16 years ago after a successful career in the hospitality industry. Since joining what was BUPA Hospitals and now Spire he has run 3 diverse hospitals; South Bank, Harpenden and Bushey. Now as National Operations Director Andrew brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge and is ready for all the challenges that lie ahead in his new role which is primarily supporting all Spire businesses to achieve their performance aspirations - naturally challenging where value can be added! |

Stephen Hayward IT Director Following a career as an officer in the Royal Navy, Stephen has worked in private healthcare for 20 years. His experience includes managing private hospitals for BUPA, Nuffield Healthcare and a charitable organisation. He became an Area Director with BUPA Hospitals in 2003 and became a National Operations Director following the Spire acquisition. He has subsequently changed role and is now the IT and Project Proteus Programme Director. |

Paul O’Conor Director of Group Services & HR Following a successful career in the Merchant Navy, Paul joined BUPA Insurance as a management trainee in 1983. In a healthcare career spanning 28 years he has worked in both the Insurance and Hospital sectors. He experience includes project management, claims management and hospital management. He became a Regional Director for BUPA Hospitals in 2002 before becoming National Operations Director for Spire Healthcare following their acquisition by Cinven in 2007. More recently he became Operations Director with the added responsibility for the HR Directorate. |

Peter Kahn Commercial Director Peter joined as Commercial Director in August 2011 after being involved with Spire as a management consultant for four years. Peter has over 18 years’ experience in hospital and health insurance management, having held senior positions in several companies including Affinity Health which was the largest hospital group in Australia before it was sold to Ramsay Healthcare. He was principal of the management consulting firm Intrinsix which was established in 2005, providing strategic advice to Healthcare organisations in Australia and internationally. |

Neil McCullough Business Development Director Following an early career in accounting and finance, Neil moved into healthcare in 1993 working with BUPA UK Membership, where he held a number of senior sales and relationship management roles. Neil moved into the BUPA Hospitals business in 1998 holding hospital general manager roles in Birmingham and East Anglia. He then moved into preventative healthcare with Bupa Wellness in 2002 where, as Sales Director, he led the rapid expansion of the business for 5 years. Neil joined Spire Healthcare on its formation in 2007 as Hospital Director at Cambridge Lea before joining the executive team in 2011. In his role, Neil oversees Spire’s business development strategy both at the local hospital level and corporately – in the UK as well as internationally. Neil also oversees sales and marketing for Spire Healthcare, leading Spire’s online and off-line marketing, brand development and communications, while supporting Spire's local sales and marketing activity. |
