Gallbladder removal: what to expect at Spire Yale Hospital

You’ll start the process by attending a consultation. This will be an opportunity to discuss your medical history and any questions you may have, and your consultant will detail the procedure to you.

You’ll then agree a date to come back for your operation. When it arrives, simply show up at the hospital and the team will take it from there. You’ll have your own private room to relax in before and after the procedure, and when they’re ready for you in theatre, you’ll be given general anaesthetic. The operation takes a few hours at most.
