Dr Lister trained in dermatology in London. He spent much of this time at St Johns’ Institute of Dermatology, St Thomas’ Hospital and The Royal London Hospital both institutions being major centres of dermatology research. After finishing his dermatology specialist training he undertook a further 18 months of training in dermatopathology with Dr Eduardo Calonje, one of the countries leading in dermatopathology. Dr Lister has continued his interest in dermatopathology which is a great aid to diagnosis.
Dr Lister has been a Consultant Dermatologist at Wrexham Maelor Hospital for 10 years. He also runs the peripheral dermatology service in the Dolgellau and Bala area. During this time he has constructed a Multidisciplinary Skin Cancer Team which he chairs and is the Skin Cancer Lead across North Wales.
Dr Lister has 17 years of experience in dermatology covering all areas of adult and children dermatology and is happy to receive referrals relating to any dermatological problem, be it an inflammatory skin disorder such as psoriasis, eczema or acne or concerns relating to skin cancer. Skin surgery can also be performed by Dr Lister at the Yale Hospital.
Dr Lister grew up in Kendal in the Lake District and enjoys living and working in the Wrexham area which has many similarities to where he grew up.
He lives with his wife and three children and they are all devoted to their dog Tiggy. Dr Lister is a regular tennis player and is passionate about music having been a member of a local band for 2 years.
