Background Information 
Professional profile:
I have vast experience in general surgery with special interest in breast diseases dealing with both benign and malignant conditions of the breast.

I specialise in breast conservation and minimal axillary dissection of sentinel lymph node assessment for treatment and staging of breast cancer, but also perform total mastectomy and axillary clearance in suitable cases. I am also the first surgeon in the UK involved with mammosite brachytherapy after breast conservation surgery, working along with the Oncology colleagues at the Regional Oncology Centre at Clatterbridge hospital in dealing with a 5 day course of local radiotherapy using mammosite balloon in suitable cases, in contrast to the conventional 5 weeks course of total breast irradiation.

I undertake all aspects of general surgery, including all types of abdominal and groin, using tension free mesh and I have a special interest in sportsman's hernia (Gilmores groin). I also deal with minor surgery for lumps and bumps
Personal profile:
I am married to Jane who is a specialist nurse practitioner and manages the pre-operative assessment clinic with North Cheshire Health Authority at Halton; we have two daughters.

I am a keen tennis player and I also enjoy playing golf and squash which helps keep me fit.
