Consultant Nephrologist at Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Trust
Renal Association - Clinical Lead for Renal Services, Arrowe Park and Countess of Chester Hospitals
I have been a Consultant Nephrologist in Wirral and Chester since 2007, having trained in the Mersey Region as a Specialist Registrar. I have special interests in Hypertension, Dialysis access for renal patients, Anaemia in kidney disease and Vasculitis. I have recently been appointed Clinical Lead in Nephrology Services covering the Wirral and West Cheshire.
I qualified from The University of Manchester Medical School in 1995, having also spent 3 years at the University of St. Andrews (many years before Prince William!). I have widespread clinical experience in Nephrology from both the Mersey and Greater Manchester regions.
With 2 teenagers and the arrival of a son in May 2011, my family life is rather hectic. However, I am a keen football supporter and will watch most sports when I get the opportunity. I play the odd round of golf, a sport I played too much of, whilst at St Andrews!
