I am a general Cardiologist with a special interest in ischaemic heart disease, atrial fibrillation, hypertension and heart failure. I undertake a number of investigations including echocardiography, exercise treadmill testing, ambulatory ECG and blood pressure monitoring and cardiac CT coronary angiography.

I obtained my medical qualification at Liverpool University Medical School in 1981. I became a member of the Royal College of Physicians of London in 1984. I undertook cardiology research at the Royal Liverpool Hospital in the field of silent myocardial ischaemia which led to the award of the Doctor of Medicine Degree in 1993. I was awarded fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians in 1999. I trained in clinical cardiology from 1989-94 at the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh and the Middlesex Hospital in London.

I was appointed as a Consultant Cardiologist and Physician at Wirral University Teaching Hospital in 1994 and have also had practicing rights as a Consultant Cardiologist and Physician at Spire Murrayfield Hospital (Wirral) since 1994.

I am clinical service lead for cardiology at Wirral University Teaching Hospital.
