The summer sun is fading fast and already we are turning our minds to Christmas and the festivities which surround this time of year! Before we dizzy with the party mode we need to keep focused with wrapping up this year’s activity!
The clinical score card is a method we use at Spire to “benchmark” against our sister hospitals to ensure we are achieving the clinical quality standards we set for ourselves to underpin the Department of Health key performance indicators. This ensures that our patients receive the care they expect from a high performing healthcare provider.
The quarter clinical score card shows significant improvement in all the clinical areas. This is down to the hard work and commitment from our clinical staff. This process is fortified by an external audit called a Provider Visit which ensures we are accurately assessing ourselves regarding our medical record keeping but also measures our effectiveness on the Minimum Care Standards set by the Care Quality Commission. Once again we have shown significant improvement on the action plan and can be confident that we meet the standards set and in some cases exceed the parameters.
We have completed the project to improve the Sterilisation Service department and are two weeks away from completing the build for the new fixed site MRI scanner and will commission this shortly afterwards. This will enable us to increase our MRI service to five days a week with a possibility to go seven days should we need. The bedrooms continue to be upgraded and we are still on target to complete all the upgrades by the end of the year.
New services introduced in the last two months include the cataract service in partnership with SpaMedica and ambulatory care services for varicose veins. Pat Barlow our Business Development Manger and her marketing team have again continued to produce some excellent GP and patient forums.
