Mr Sean Symons is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon offering private orthopaedic surgery in our clean and comfortable hospital.
Mr Symons joined Basildon and Thurrock (Essex) University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as a Consultant Orthopaedic surgeon in October 2008. He obtained his primary medical degree from Barts & The Royal London Hospital Medical School, Queen Mary & Westfield College, University of London in 1994. His orthopaedic surgical training was mainly in North West London at St. Mary's, Charing Cross and Chelsea and Westminster Hospitals.
Mr Symons' has undertaken the IIizarov Fellowship in limb reconstruction for limb deformity at Alder Hey Royal Children's Hospital & Royal Liverpool Hospital and in Children's Orthopaedic surgery at the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne.
Sean Symons has a special interest in primary knee replacement for degenerative joint disease in adults. Mr Symons also performs knee arthroscopy, resection or suture of meniscus cartilage, articular cartilage regeneration surgery using microfracture techniques or insertion of synthetic osteochondral plugs, knee ligament reconstruction and patella realignment surgery.
