Michael Harvey qualified at Kings College Hospital Medical School, London in 1977. He trained as a Registrar in Leicester and Norwich and then spent two years as a research fellow at the University of Missouri, USA. Following this post he was appointed as Senior Registrar at the Westminster Hospital for three years from 1989-1992.
In 1992 he was appointed as a Consultant Upper Gastrointestinal (GI) surgeon to Mid Essex Hospitals NHS Trust.
He has performed over 3000 keyhole operations including gallbladder removal, surgery for gastro-intestinal reflux and all types of hernia repair.
Michael Harvey is an Essex based Consultant working in Southend on Sea and Chelmsford who operates on patients with oesophageal and gastric cancer, covering a population of 1 million people stretching from North Ipswich to Southend on Sea.
