    Professional profile:
    I am a consultant physician working at Southend University Hospital. I qualified in medicine from St George's Hospital Medical School (University of London) in 1997, and undertook a BSC at the Atkinson Morley Neuroscience Centre, London in 1993. This research evaluated medication used to combat complications in subarachnoidm haemorrhage.

    I am still actively involved in stroke/vasular research.

    My professional interests cover all aspects of stroke medicine, prevention, diagnosis, acute treatment, rehabilitation, complications and research.

    I am the lead clinician for acute stroke for the Essex Cardiac and Stroke Network. I also specialise in general medicine and elderly medicine.
    Personal profile:
    I believe in honest and open communication with patients at all times. I aim to provide a 'down to earth' realistic approach to issues, whilst offering specialist professional advice.

    I spend my free time with my wife and two young children.

    I enjoy all sports (especially football) when time allows!

    I also enjoy travelling, hill-walking and good food/fine wine.
