My professional interests include all aspects of renal medicine including dialysis, acute renal failure and chronic kidney disease. I also have a strong interest in general medicine and hypertension. I am involved with medical input to intensive care.

My philosophy in practice is to get answers quickly and keep patients informed. I am keen on keeping jargon to a minimum when communicating with patients and colleagues. I am particularly interested in maintaining continuity of care. I think patients find this reassuring in chronic diseases particularly kidney disease.

My undergraduate training was at University College London, and post graduate training in London, Australia, the West Midlands and Cambridge. My research in Cambridge was in genetics of hypertension and vascular biology.
My current research interests include chronic kidney disease, and phosphate balance in dialysis patients.

Rapid assessment and diagnostics. Assessment and treatment of multi-system disorders and multiple co morbidity. Acute medicine/intensive care medicine.

I am a keen sportsman and still row actively. I also enjoy music.
