New state-of-the-art fixed MRI scanner for Spire Wellesley Hospital

In addition to the £1 million investment made into the Wellesley in 2009, a further £2.1 million is being invested in 2010 in a state-of-the-art fixed MRI.

Opening Summer 2010, the most patient friendly MRI scanner in the South East Essex region, the Toshiba Vantage will provide scans available throughout each and every week and Saturdays for patients requiring an MRI at a time convenient to them.

Wider, shorter and up to 90% quieter than most MRI scanners (ear defenders are no longer needed), the Toshiba Vantage is specifically designed to give the highest quality images whilst significantly reducing feelings of claustrophobia in patients.

The MRI scanner sits as part of the Wellesley's newly opened diagnostic imaging suite.
