Spire Washington Hospital offers weight loss surgery (also known as obesity surgery or bariatric surgery) from a multi-disciplinary team, led by Mr Peter Small and Mr Shlok Balupuri, Consultant General Surgeons, who currently undertake gastric banding operations. Mr Small, Mr Balupuri and Dr David Nylander, Consultant Gastroenterologist, also offer gastric balloon insertion at Spire Washington Hospital.
Research has shown that weight loss (bariatric) surgery is more effective in the long term than weight loss drugs or diets. Your weight loss surgery will be undertaken by an experienced bariatric (weight loss) surgeon in our safe, clean private hospital. Surgery is only part of the solution, and we also have a dedicated weight loss surgery support team including bariatric (weight loss) specialist nurses and dieticians. Once you have met the team, your own personal weight loss programme will be created.
