    Mr Joypaul qualified in 1984 from Ninewells Hospital and Medical School, Dundee.

    His basic surgical training was in North-West England (SHO) and Edinburgh (registrar) before returning to Dundee for his MD and Senior Registrar Training.

    Mr Joypaul was appointed consultant in South Tyneside in 1999.

    He is a General Surgeon with specialist referral practice in Laparoscopy, Colorectal and Gastrointestinal Surgery.

    Mr Joypaul's surgical repertoire also includes Hernia Repair, Varicose Vein Surgery, Vasectomies, Lumps and Bumps, Gastoscopy and Laparoscopic Cholecystectomies.

    Personal profile:

    Mr Joypaul is married to Reena and they have two daughters, Sheetal and Priyanka.
