I did my Urology training at Freeman Hospital Newcastle completing FRCS (Urology) in 1999. I was appointed Consultant Urologist at Sunderland Royal Hospital in 2000 as lead for Endo-Urology and stone treatment. I also have specialist Urology qualifications from India having trained in CMC Vellore DNB & MCh (Urology). I introduced Laparoscopic Surgery in Urology at Sunderland in 2003 and have developed the department into one of the leading units for Laparoscopic Surgery. In 2005 I started Cryo-Ablation as treatment for Kidney Cancer at Sunderland, one of the first few departments in the UK to establish this minimally invasive treatment option for Kidney Cancer.

Apart from offering expert management of routine Urological conditions including urine infections, blood in urine, prostate/urine problems etc, my area of expertise include Laparoscopic Kidney Surgery (Pyeloplasty, Partial and Radical Nephrectomy); Laparoscopic Adrenal Surgery; Complete Stone Treatment including keyhole operation (PCNL), Ureteroscopic laser treatment and Lithotripsy (ESWL), and treatment of Urethral Stricture. I also perform Robotic Kidney and Adrenal (Key hole) Surgery.
