Prakash Johnson went to Medical School at Madras in India. Completed his basic Surgical Training in CMC Ludhiana (MS) and his Urological Training in CMC Vellore in India (MCh Urology). He also completed the National Board Examination in Urology (DNB Urology).
In the UK after starting as SHO in Urology, Mr Johnson was selected as Specialist Registrar in Urology in the Northern Deanery and went on to complete the Urological training at Freeman Hospital. He was awarded the Fellowhisp of the Royal College and also successfully completed the exit examination in Urology (FRCS Urology) in 19999. He was appointed as Consultant Urologist at Sundeland Royal Hospital in 2000 as lead for Endo-Urology and Stone Treatment.
He introduced Laparoscopic Urological Surgery to Sunderland in 2003 and as Lead for laparoscopic urology has developed the department into one of the leading units for laparoscopic work.
Mr Johnson's other areas of expertise include General Uroogy, Renal Cancer Treatment including Partial Nephrectomy and Cryo-ablation etc.
Mr Johnson's non medical interests include tennis and cricket.
