I have been a consultant trauma and orthopaedic surgeon since 2004, based at the Sunderland Royal Hospital, specialising in mainly foot and ankle and knee surgery. I specialise in general orthopaedic surgery with specialist interests in all aspects of foot and ankle surgery, knee arthroscopy and arthroplasty (replacement).

I qualified from Newcastle University Medical School in 1994, and prior to becoming a consultant have been extensively trained in the north east with additional specialist training on fellowships in Bristol and America.

In addition to my clinical work, I am a clinical and educational supervisor for junior doctors in surgical training.

I am also a representative for the British Medical Association.
