Mr Ahmed has a solid grounding in all aspects of plastic and reconstructive surgery, with more than 15 years' total experience in the specialty. 

Mr Ahmed was schooled in the UK but did his medical training in Lahore, Pakistan. His plastic surgery training has been in every province of the UK, including Northern Ireland. Mr Ahmed is a fully accredited plastic surgeon in the UK.

Mr Ahmed has been an NHS consultant since February 2005, working in one of the largest units in the country. He treats patients with cancers of the head and neck and is also developing a facial paralysis service. Surgery for these conditions often involves the use of state of the art reconstructive techniques, including microsurgery.

Mr Ahmed also has an interest in cosmetic surgery. His practice includes cosmetic surgery to the face, nose, breast and abdomen, liposculpture, prominent ear correction and a number of other procedures including non-surgical treatment.

Mr Ahmed currently uses an Iphone application to show patients how they would look after different procedures.

Mr Ahmed is happily married with three wonderful children, two boys and a girl. Mr Ahmed's wife is also a doctor.

He drives his wife to distraction by his addiction to sports (especially football, cricket and golf) and music. Mr Ahmed is a huge fan of the Beatles. He sings and plays keyboards and the guitar, having done so in a band in his student days.

Mr Ahmed is known amongst friends and family as a fountain of trivial knowledge, though he argues that knowledge is never trivial.

Mr Ahmed loves to read when he is allowed to, be it fiction, politics, newspapers, sports magazines or music magazines.
