Professional profile:
Having trained initially in Sheffield, I moved to Newcastle as a Consultant in Colorectal and Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Gateshead, following a fellowship year in laparoscopic colorectal surgery in Singapore.

As well as laparoscopic colorectal surgery my interests within colorectal surgery include diagnostic and therapeutic colonoscopy, investigation and treatment of anorectal disorders, functional bowel problems including incontinence, surgery for cancer and inflammatory bowel disease.

I have been married for six years and have two children. My interests include squash and golf.
