Professional profile:

Mr O'Donoghue graduated from the National University of Ireland in 1988. After obtaining his Fellowship in surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and a Masters degree in surgery, he embarked on a career in plastic surgery.

His training in plastic surgery was based in Ireland and the UK. He completed his training with two specialist Fellowships: one in aesthetic surgery at the Wellington Hospital in London and the other in breast oncology and reconstructive surgery at the Marie Curie Institute in Paris.

He commenced practice as a consultant plastic surgeon in 1999 at St George's Hospital NHS Trust, London. He has been working at the Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust since December 2002 where he provides a specialist breast reconstruction service.

Mr O'Donoghue is involved in a number of national plastic surgery training committees through his work with BAPRAS.

His particular interests are in all aspects of aesthetic surgery as well as breast reconstructive surgery.

Mr O'Donoghue has over 10 years experience as a consultant in all areas of cosmetic surgery.
