Macrolane™ body sculpting injection, a new non-surgical choice for beauty treatments, is now available at Spire Washington Hospital. Also known as the ‘lunchtime boob job’, this procedure is performed under local anaesthetic and does not require a hospital stay.
What is Macrolane™?
Macrolane™, the first body shaping treatment using Hyaluronic Acid (HA), is a man made version of the substance your body produces to fill out skin tone and lubricate joints. It is almost the same product that is commonly used to carry out anti-wrinkle treatments to the face, but differs in that the size of the particles are bigger which means that it can be injected into larger areas such as the breasts, buttocks and calves.
Who is Macrolane™ suitable for?
In breast enlargement cases Macrolane™ is recommended for smaller breast sizes of an A to B cup size.
What are the results?
In breast enlargement cases an average increase of one to one-and-a-half can be expected.
Are there any side effects?
Side effects are minimal and include some short lived redness, and tenderness. Your chosen consultant will discuss this with you during your consultation.
How long does it take?
The procedure is performed under local anaesthetic and takes approximately 45 minutes to perform.
How long do the results last?
Results can be expected to last for up to 16 months.
Who administers the treatment?
At Spire Washington Hospital there are two consultant plastic surgeons, Mr Matt Erdmann and Mr Neil McLean who carry out Macrolane™ injections. Both are highly experienced and are registered with BAPRAS (British Association of Plastic and Reconstructive Plastic Surgeons).
