The Radiology department at Spire Washington Hospital is staffed by a friendly team of Senior Radiographers supported by Healthcare Assistants and Assistant Radiographic Practioners. We provide a Diagnostic Imaging service from 8:00am to 8:00pm Monday to Friday and from 8:30am to 12:30pm each Saturday.
Highly experienced consultant radiologists carry out both image reporting and interventional procedures, and specialise in the following areas:

- neurology

- vascular
The department offers the following services:
X-ray
Our X-ray service is open 8:00am to 8:00pm Monday to Friday and from 8:30am to 8:00pm each Saturday.
MRI Scan
Our MRI service is offered from 8:00am to 8:00pm, 3 days per week on Monday, Tuesday and Friday's.
CT Scan
Computerised Tomography is available 1 day per week on Thursday's.
Ultrasound
Diagnostic ultrasound is carried out by the consultant radiologist, and a report generated within 24 hours. This procedure is used to investigate soft tissue problems eg musculo-skeletal, urological, gynaecological, vascular and breast.
One-stop Breast Clinic
The consultant radiologist works alongside the breast surgeons to provide diagnostic imaging to determine diagnosis at the point of consultation. This may include mammography/ultrasound including aspiration and biopsy of specimens.
Interventional procedures
Spire Washington Hospital offers a wide range of interventional procedures including:

- arthrograms
- facet joint injections
- nerve root injections

We aim to provide an appointment within 48 hours of referral, and offer early morning and evening appointments to fit around the working day.
