Dr Maiden trained at University College and Middlesex School of Medicine, London, gaining a BSc in Anatomy and Neurosciences before graduating in 1993. Completing his general medical training in Poole, Dorset, he returned to London and South East Thames to complete his specialist training at the Kent & Sussex, Guy’s & St Thomas’, King’s College and Lewisham Hospitals. He is dual accredited in General (internal) medicine and gastroenterology. His research into non-invasive investigation of small bowel pathology, including capsule endoscopy and faecal calprotectin, culminated in the award of Doctor of Medicine in 2008. Dr Maiden has been a consultant at the Kent & Sussex hospital since December 2008 and is happy to receive referrals on all aspects of gastroenterology and hepatology, including small bowel pathology and nutrition.
