After completion of training and the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) in General Surgery, Mahendra Kulkarni undertook higher training in Plastic Aesthetic & Reconstructive Surgery in London, East Grinstead, Chelmsford and Trent region.

This involved fellowships and specialist experience in reconstructive surgery of the breast, microsurgery, cosmetic surgery and hand surgery.

He has gained research trust awards for his clinical research in hand surgery. This research work has resulted in a number of presentations and publications nationally and internationally.

Mahendra Kulkarni considers his work to help people achieve better quality of life by realistic understanding of their problems and tailored application of surgical and non-surgical techniques. He welcomes referrals on breast reshaping surgery, cosmetic facial surgery, hand surgery and non-surgical cosmetic treatment to the Spire Thames Valley Hospital.

Away from surgery, he teaches and practices yoga and enjoys performing on stage as a singer.
