Professional profile:
As a generalist, I am able to offer a holistic, personalised review of all the patient's needs, closely supported by a full range of sub-specialist services, with a focus on quality management of emergencies across the full spectrum of medicine. I personally deliver and/or co-ordinate all clinical activities including assessment of new admissions, treatment, and diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures. Referrals are sourced via my base post the Acute Medicine Unit in Wexham Park Hospital, and also via direct GP contact. Expeditious outpatient assessment and/or admission of patients requesting private medical care is available by contacting my NHS secretary, or by calling switchboard if you need to speak to me urgently.
My professional goals include the modernisation of existing pathways to ensure the highest level of patient safety and quality in acute care provision, and development of safety in acute medicine education.
Personal profile:
For 7 years following initial qualification as a medical doctor in South Africa, I worked in a variety of posts and was exposed to the full spectrum of clinical medicine, including general practice, emergency departments and trauma. My susequent training in tertiary general (internal) medicine in Cape Town included lengthy stints in emergency medicine, critical and coronary care, as well as all sub-specialties of general medicine. My consultant post at Wexham Park Hospital commenced in 2001, although I have worked in the area since 1997 as a locum registrar, I am married and we live locally in Windsor.
