Vestibular rehabilitation at Spire Sussex Hospital

Spire Sussex Hospital offers a vestibular rehabilitation clinic for people experiencing difficulties with balance and dizziness as a result of inner ear problems. These problems are often made worse by head movements and can follow infections of the inner ear such as labyrinthitis or vestibular neuritis.

Our aim is to ease and eventually eliminate your inner ear symptoms

During your first session, your physiotherapist will spend around an hour with you to establish an accurate history of your condition. Treatment then usually involves an exercise programme designed around your needs. The aim is to ease and eventually eliminate your symptoms. You may need between four and six sessions so your progress can be monitored and your exercises developed accordingly.

At Spire Sussex Hospital we can also diagnose and treat benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV). This condition is treated differently to those described above, using specific techniques aiming to reduce and eliminate the problem.
