Background Information 
Professional profile:
Mr John Orrell Davis qualified from Edinburgh University Medical School in 1975.
After a period of general medical experience in the United Kingdom and abroad he commenced training in obstetrics and gynaecology in 1979 working in London, Liverpool, Exeter, Bristol and Plymouth before commencing his present post as Consultant in 1988.

Whilst working in Bristol Mr Davis conducted research into the applications of a monoclonal antibody to placental alkaline phosphotase. This work lead to the degree of MD, the Eden Travel Scholarship of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and the Nicholls Fellowship of the Royal Society of Medicine.
In 2005 Mr John Orrell Davis obtained a masters in Medical Law.

Mr Davis have maintained a general gynaecological practice as consultant but has also developed a subspecialty interest in subfertility offering investigation and treatment and minimal access surgery for tubal damage and endometriosis.
Additionally, Mr John Orrell Davis has been offering minimal access treatments for menorrhagia since 1991. He fully participates in the College's programme of continuing medical education and appears on the RCOG roll of consultants who have successfully completed their second 5 year cycle.
