He qualified in Medicine 1990 from St. Thomas’ Hospital in London, and trained in ENT Surgery (as a Specialist Registrar) in London, based at Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospitals. This training programme included super-specialist training in childrens ENT at The Evelina Hospital at St Thomas' Hospital and at The Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children.
Mr Sharp has expertise in all aspects of ENT Surgery and is happy to see referrals within the whole spectrum of ENT practice, but his particular area of interest in both his NHS and private practice is in Rhinology and Nasal Plastic Surgery. This includes functional and cosmetic nasal septal surgery and rhinoplasty as well as the medical and surgical management of all nose and sinus disease.
He has particular experience in Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (FESS) in which he received subspecialist training at Guys Hospital and in Guildford. In 2003, he was a Fellow in advanced sinus and anterior skull base surgery in Fulda, Germany.
He is able to offer you a bespoke and entirely up to date service involving all the latest diagnostic tests and surgical techniques to cure your nose and sinus problems, including balloon sinuplasty.
He has written over 20 papers in peer-reviewed journals and has lectured in regional and national meetings to his peers. Specifically, he has published articles on the assessment and audit of patients undergoing rhinoplasty, and he routinely uses digital image manipulation on photographs of your face pre-operatively to demonstrate to you the outcome of your planned rhinoplasty surgery prior to the operation itself.
