    Dr Sen Varghese Kallupuram works as a full time substantive consultant psychiatrist in old age psychiatry in Shepway. Kent.  His job involves providing community health services for older adults living along this rural and coastal stretch of East Kent, extending from Folkestone to Lydd whilst taking a lead in providing Dementia care for the locality.

    Dr Kallupuram currently has beds based in the Arundel Unit at the William Harvey Hospital, Ashford and also plays a lead role in research and development within the East Kent Hospitals NHS University Foundation Trust. 
    He recently joined the Dendron network and intends to play an active role in dementia end of life care. 
    He is involved in the CARE-DEM research which is pragmatic randomised control trial to evaluate the effectiveness and cost effectiveness of collaborative care for people with Dementia.

    Dr Sen Varghese Kallupuram is doing his Gerontology at Kings College as a part time student and teaches medical students from Kings College and MRC Psych trainees as well as being in the process of completing his Certificate in teaching (QESP).He has gained a wide range of experience both working in General Adult Psychiatry and in Old Age Psychiatry by working in busy inner city and suburban areas of London.  As well as this he has done special interest sessions in Geriatric Medicine, Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit, Parkinson’s disease Day Unit and Liaison Psychiatry. 

    Dr Sen Varghese Kallupuram has trained in psychiatry in two different countries experiencing two different cultures as he worked for two years as a Senior House Officer in Bangalore.
