Romney Cougars U15 win the league
Local Under 15 footbal team Romney Cougars from New Romney, Kent have had a very successful season. They have recently moved in to the East Kent Youth Football league and have been undefeated all season winning the fourth division. Spire St Saviour's Hospital in Hythe, Kent, are proud to sponsor the team by providing track suit tops for all of the boys.
Romney Cougars are one of the youth teams of New Romney FC. The Cougars were started in 2003 by Steve Magee and played 7 a side football for two seasons in the Weald of Kent League, after which Steve had to leave due to family commitments.
Mark Haiselden took over in season 05/06 and the boys came second in their league. The next season 06/07 Steve Gardner joined the management team along with Mark and the Cougars won their age group. The next year 07/08 the team moved into the Rother and South Sussex league and up to the eleven a side game, winning division 2.
After promotion to the top division the Cougars remained there for two years coming second and third. Looking for a new challenge Cougars entered the East Kent Youth League in season 10/11 coming top of division 4 without losing a game!
So a big well doen to the boys and we wish them success for the new season in the Under 16 league.
