Mr Ressiniotis completed his specialist registrar training in Ophthalmology in the Northern Deanery, between Newcastle upon Tyne, Sunderland and Middlesbrough.
During this time he gained extensive training in general ophthalmology and developed a particular interest in glaucoma and cataract surgery through clinical experience, research and teaching. He has been awarded the Higher Degree of Doctor of Medicine from Newcastle University in 2007 for his research in the field of Glaucoma Genetics. He attends and presents regularly at national and international meetings and has published a significant number of articles on peer reviewed journals as well as book chapters.
After his Specialist Training, he completed a two year Fellowship in Glaucoma in Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, during which he obtained advanced clinical and surgical skills in the field of glaucoma and cataract.
He is currently appointed as a Consulant Ophthalmologist at the Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust, leading the Glaucoma Service in Good Hope Hospital. His vision is to provide a top quality comprehensive glaucoma, cataract and general ophthalmology service, including laser and surgical management of complex glaucoma cases. He is particularly interested in the latest advances on modern small incision cataract surgery, correction of astigmatism and intraocular lens implants.
