If you are unwell or are worried about a lump or other symptom, make an appointment with your GP straight away. They will be able to refer you for tests and to see a consultant at your local Spire hospital.

Making an appointment
If you have a referral from your GP or another consultant, you can phone your local Spire Healthcare hospital to make an appointment. Alternatively you can use our online enquiry form.
Meeting my team
Your first visit to the hospital will probably be to meet your consultant who will discuss any tests you may need for diagnosis and possible treatment methods. Your consultant will put together a tailored treatment plan which may include surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and/or hormone therapy. If you are a breast cancer patient, you will also meet the breast care nurse on this first visit.
Before you start treatment you will meet your specialist team to discuss the type of treatment you will be having, how long it will take and any side effects. It is important that you feel supported and reassured throughout the process, so you will be given a list of contact numbers for you to use any time of the day or night if you need support or advice or have any further questions.
Managing my care
It is important that you feel comfortable with your treatment plan, and have no unnecessary worries or stress. We ensure that all your treatments are discussed with you in advance so that you can understand the reason for each type of treatment, how long it will take, possible side effects and the likely outcome. You will have plenty of time to ask questions at every stage, so that you can feel confident before treatment goes ahead.
You will receive personalised care from our consultant throughout your treatment, and will have access to the oncology nursing team 24 hours a day.
