Mr Al-Rawi is a Colorectal and General Surgeon. His main interest is the management of large bowel conditions both benign and cancer. He is particularly interested in treating functional bowel disorders including faecal incontinence. He is an experienced diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopist. In General Surgery, Mr Al-Rawi performs laparoscopic cholecystectomy and minimal access hernia repair (inguinal and incisional). He is very keen on enhanced recovery after surgery.
Mr Al-Rawi has had an extensive higher specialist surgical training in the south west of England. He has attended advanced laparoscopic training courses / fellowships both nationally and internationally. Academically, he has published in many scientific journals and books. He has completed a doctoral degree (PhD) in the department of surgery, Cardiff University about investigating cancer spread to the lymphatic system.
