Rachel Oeppen studied medicine at Bristol University and gained experience in hospital paediatrics and MRCP prior to radiology training on the Wessex scheme based in Southampton. A four month fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston was supported by the prestigious Constance Thornton Fellowship awarded by the Royal College of Radiologists.
Rachel's NHS practice includes clinical breast services (mammography, ultrasound, tissue biopsy and MRI), general and head and neck ultrasound and oncological CT. She is the Lead Radiologist for Southampton Medical School and maintains a keen interest in postgraduate radiology education and assessment at local, regional and college level. She has published on a variety of radiology and other topics.
Rachel is married with three daughters. Her interests include classical music and playing the piano, reading, cooking and fine wine.
