Professional profile:

I am a Consultant Hepatabiliary Surgeon, trained in Verona, Italy in one of the biggest centres for pancreatic diseases in Europe. I then moved to the UK and had a further seven years of training including a year of fellowship in St James Hospital in Leeds.

I perform a large number of liver and pancreatic surgical procedures a year. I introduced laparscopic surgery to Southampton and I am performing about 60% of my liver resections laparoscopically.

My philosophy is to operate only if this is in the patients' best interest and will always discuss all options with my patients in a multi-disciplinary team meeting before taking final decisions.
