Mr Michael Uglow trained at St George Hospital Medical School, London and completed his post as a house officer in Midhurst and Epsom. He then moved to Southampton General Hospital to complete his basic and higher surgical training as part of 'Wessex regional rotation'. Mr Uglow finished his training with a one year specialist fellowship in paediatric orthopaedic surgery at the New Children's Hospital, Sydney, Australia.

Mr Uglow works as a general orthopaedic surgeon, but has a special interest in children's orthopaedics and surgery of the foot and ankle. He also has an interest in sports injuries and provides orthopaedic services for patients of all ages with foot and ankle problems.

Mr Uglow has published papers on club foot surgery and various aspects of orthopaedic trauma and is actively involved in ongoing research and education. He is also involved with the development of a new external fixator for trauma and is researching treatment for degenerative arthritis of the ankle and 1st MTP joint.

He has served as president of the British Orthopaedic Trainees Association and was a committee member for the two preceeding years.

Mr Uglow is married with two children. He used to play representative rugby but now enjoys playing tennis and golf. Mr Uglow enjoys travel and in particular outdoor activity holidays, especially skiing, hiking and water sports.
