Mike Phillips is a recently appointed consultant vascular and general surgeon at Southampton and Winchester hospitals, following the retirement of Tony Chant.

Mike is a graduate from Southampton Medical School, who undertook postgraduate training in Cardiff, the Wessex region and in London at the Thrombosis Research Institute. More recently he was a clinical fellow in vascular and endovascular surgery in Adelaide, Australia.

In addition to the conventional management of arterial (carotid disease, aneurysms and limb ischaemia) and venous disease (varicose veins and ulcers), he has interests in endovascular and minimal access techniques (for hyperhydrosis) and the management and prevention of deep vein thrombosis.

He also has a significant role in undergraduate and postgraduate education, as a teacher and an examiner.
