I undertook my postgraduate education at St Bartholomew's Hospital, Charing Cross Hospital, London, and specialist education at Portsmouth and Southampton University Hospitals.

I spent two years researching the cloning of cancer cells at Southampton University leading to a higher degree (MS).

During my appointment at Southampton University Hospitals my specialist interests have been in the surgical treatment of colorectal cancer, particularly sphincter-preserving operations for rectal cancer and for the surgical treatment of malignant melanoma offering a sub-regional service.

My administrative positions include lead clinician for cancer services for the central South coast network.
