David Warwick is a Consultant surgeon, running a specialised practice in Wessex for patients with problems with their hands, wrists, elbows and peripheral nerves. All the appropriate skills and facilities are available at the clinic to include microsurgery, arthroscopy, small joint replacement, tendon transfers, fracture fixation and thermoplastic splints.

Trained in basic surgery in Bristol, David obtained the fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1989 in London. He then specialised in orthopaedic surgery for the next seven years as a registrar on the South West Regional Training Scheme. He qualified as an orthopaedic surgeon in 1996 and was appointed as a consultant at Southampton University Hospitals in 1998. He has recently been awarded the European Diploma of Hand Surgery.

David is trained in all aspects of upper limb surgery, to include microsurgery and arthroscopy of the wrist and elbow, as well as children's hand problems.

He has written several papers on hand, wrist and nerve injuries and is a member of the British Society for Surgery of the Hand. He is the author of chapters on hand and wrist problems in the most recent edition of the surgical textbooks 'Bailey and Love', 'Apley's System of Orthopaedics' (the largest selling textbooks of their class) and the 'Oxford Textbook of Orthopaedics'. He is on the editorial boards of the Journal of Hand Surgery and the British Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery.

David also has a current research programme based at Southampton University Hospitals NHS Trust.

When not working, David spends as much time as he can with his three children - swimming, running and playing soccer.

He is involved as a consultant for Southampton football club, enjoys travelling, skiing, gardening and driving.

In October 2010 David Warwick took part in Enduro Africa - a "dusty and demanding motobike ride through some of South Africa's most rugged and isolated terrain". This eight day challenge was in aid of some great charities, to help save the lives of some of Africa's poorest people. The charities are UNICEF, Sentebale – The Princes' Fund for Lesotho, the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund and Touch Africa.
