Mr Chris Dare is a UK fellowship trained consultant spinal surgeon. His practice involves the care of all forms of spinal medicine and surgery. Utilising multi-disciplinary working with physiotherapy, rehabilitation, pain management and radiology specialists. Mr Dare performs spinal surgery to include all forms of appropriate spinal intervention from the neck to the low back.
Major interests lie in scoliosis, tumour, trauma & degenerative spinal surgery. Mr Dare cares for children through to the elderly with spinal problems. Privately he operates exclusively at Spire Southampton Hospital.
Mr Chris Dare was born in Teddington, Middlesex in 1964, attended school in New Malden, Surrey. On leaving school he initially trained as a registered general nurse at Frimley Park Hospital before undertaking his first degree at the University of Surrey. He then spent a short time as a Nursing Officer in the British Army. He resigned his commission in 1994 to train in medicine and qualified from Southampton University with Honours in 1998. His basic orthopaedic training was on the Wessex rotation and he completed a fellowship in spinal surgery at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital prior to taking up post as Consultant adult and paediatric spinal surgeon.
Mr Dare is married with 4 children, 2 boys and 2 girls, he enjoys watching football and spending time with his family.
