Professional profile:
I have been Consultant Ophthalmologist in Southampton since 1994. I founded and lead the Southampton Oculoplastics Service, which is a tertiary referral centre and I have patients referred from Wessex, the Isle of Wight and the Channel Islands.

I trained in London at St Bartholomew¿s Hospital and St Mary¿s Hospital and in Southampton and Portsmouth. I undertook subspecialty training in Oculoplastics (eyelid, lacrimal and orbital disorders) as a clinical Fellow at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London and in Vancouver, Canada.

My surgical practise is divided between cataract surgery and Oculoplastics. I perform cataract surgery under topical (drops) anaesthesia or local anaesthesia. I have a special interest and expertise in ptosis (drooping upper eyelids), blepharoplasty, ectropion/entropion (malposition of lower lids), excision of eyelid tumours and tear drainage surgery.

I am the South of England representative of the British Oculoplastic Surgical Society (BOPSS) and a full member of the European Society of Ophthalmic Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery (ESOPRS)

I am married to a Consultant Ophthalmologist and we have two young daughters. I enjoy gardening and sport.
