Dr Erlewyn-Lajeunesse is a UK trained consultant paediatric immunologist. He also treats children with recurrent infections, fevers and Urticaria. Dr Erlewyn-Lajeunesse can offer allergy skin testing, which will often give a diagnosis in clinic. Privately he consults exclusively at Spire Southampton Hospital.
In November 2009 Dr Erlewyn-Lajeunesse carried out allergy testing for a child who was being filmed as part of Channel 4's Embarrassing Bodies kids special.
Despite his French Canadian name, Dr Erlewyn-Lajeunesse was born in the UK and trained in medicine at Imperial College London (St Mary’s Hospital). He wrote his doctorate on preschool children’s asthma at Southampton University. He has also undertaken training in complementary and alternative medicine, and has a sympathetic approach to these treatment modalities – although his practice is entirely conventional. He sits on the governmental regulatory board for the safety of homeopathic medicines. He has wide ranging research interests in children’s allergies and vaccine safety and is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Southampton.
