Dr Nigel Hacking provides all aspects of general radiology including ultrasound and barium studies. In his areas of special interest in the abdomen Dr Hacking performs CT and MR to include MR cholangio-pancreatography and MR angiography.

Since the opening of a fully functional Interventional radiology suite at Spire Southampton Hospital complex embolization procedures, especially for fibroids, liver and kidney tumours and metastases can now be performed. IVC filters, variococoeal embolization and a full range of urological and biliary interventions are now offered.

I trained at the Middlesex Hospital and after a Senior House Officer medical rotation at St Marys Hospital, London, I trained in radiology at Southampton. I was appointed consultant in 1991.
Personal profile:
Dr Nigel Hacking is married to a nurse who is also qualified as a Psychodynamic Counsellor. They have three children and live in the New Forest, enjoying the surrounding natural history, riding and sailing.
