Investment funds expansion to operating facilities

Spire Healthcare is delighted to annouce the investment of £2.5 million in facilities at Spire Southampton Hospital, Hampshire. This investment will fund the development of a fourth operating theatre and expand the existing critical care unit.

The hospital has been offering medical care to patients since 1984 and this investment will enable Spire Southampton Hospital to continue to provide complex surgical services for patients, including heart surgery,  liver surgery, and cranial neurosurgery.

This development is part of an on-going refurbishment programme at the hospital which includes a new on-site MRI & CT suite, a £1 million upgrade to existing interventional radiology facilities and refurbishment of patient rooms and patient areas.

The fourth operating theatre and expansion to the critial care unit will be completed in Summer 2009.
