Mr Mike Uglow, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon has a specialist interest in children's orthopaedics and surgery of the foot and ankle for both children and adults. Mr Uglow has established the foot and ankle service at Spire Southampton Hospital and works closely with our specialist physiotherapists and podiatrist. Specialist foot and ankle physiotherapists will help you return to daily activities by increasing your strength and mobility following your operation.
Simon Collins, our fully qualified podiatrist uses bio-mechanical assessment to identify any abnormal stance or gait that may be causing back, hip, knee, ankle and foot pain. Following this assessment, orthoses may be prescribed. Orthoses are orthopaedic insoles individually tailored to your feet to reduce excessive stress on your lower limb. The podiatry clinic at Spire Southampton Hospital provides an inclusive package for biomechanical assessment of the foot, a pair of orthotic insoles and follow-up podiatry appointments.
Whether you’re coming in for an assessment, a minor procedure or a major operation, you can expect a warm welcome, excellent facilities and dedicated medical and nursing care.
