Professional profile:
Mr Armstrong graduated from Edinburgh University Medical School in 1986. His pre-registration year was completed in General Surgery under the Queen's Surgeon in Edinburgh and in Respiratory Medicine. He thereafter qualified in General Surgery before resuming his training in ENT Surgery at the Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital in London.

He returned to Edinburgh to complete his training. As a Registrar he developed a service for the diagnosis and treatment of snoring and obstructive sleep apnoea. He also trained in New York under Professor Blitzer to set up a national clinic in the treatment of head and neck movement disorders with botox, which was the first of its kind in Scotland and second in the UK.

He was subsequently appointed as a Consultant Otorhinolaryngologist in 2000 and practices in the Borders and Edinburgh.

He has provided an ENT private practice for adults and children at Spire Murrayfield Hospital since 2001.

I have a wife and four young children, which occupy my free time and are a source of joy.
